o v e r v i e w developed and brought to market in 1970, ktrueman has evolved over the years into an intelligent, thoughtful brand. with university studies in political science and economics, ktrueman considers himself to be of a rare breed known as the generalist. one should be careful though not to discount his technical savvy and expertise. ktrueman absorbs many inputs including magazines, newspapers, books, television, radio, movies and the internet. a veritable potpourri of information swims through ktrueman's head at any one time. ktrueman possesses strong analytical skills and uses them wisely. ktrueman is known for his quick wit and biting sarcasm. sources of cynicism include political science, tv and everyday life. ktrueman is able to understand the simpsons on its highest levels where allegory and innuendo reign. fluent in english and french, ktrueman attempts to broaden his brand appeal to overseas markets by learning spanish and german. burritos are a mainstay of ktrueman's diet, while perogies and pizza placate him too. a closet urbanist, ktrueman is prone to observe and comment on the development and evolution of north american cities. his father being an architect, ktrueman grew to appreciate buildings and design and enjoys nothing more than to lose himself in the heart of the city, walking with his necked arched upwards. favorite cities include montreal, boston, new york, chicago (a recent holy grail), san francisco and los angeles (when not comfortably installed at hank's bar and grill drinking coronas, listening to harry belafonte and zero mostel (or topol?), he's in japantown.) ktrueman is saddened by the general attitude of the throwaway culture inherent in the exodus to the suburbs (and outer suburbs) best exemplified by the continued bleeding of detroit. a lack of strategic planning in the early nineties caused ktrueman to become overextended like pierre cardin or max fischer and there was subsequently a major loss of brand equity. going forward, the challenge for ktrueman was to regain the qualities and feelings that were made synonymous with the ktrueman brand and solidify that impression in the hearts and minds of consumers. in 1999, ktrueman was released in a fifth software version, with a number of new features and low-level bugfixes. the experiences of the previous three years had taught him much about life. a poll taken at the time indicated that these changes were making a difference in consumer sentiment. while much work remained to be done, we were confident that ktrueman was effectively positioned as a digital brand.
in preparation for the change to y2k, a new round of measures was undertaken. as a digital brand, ktrueman is based on a mix of marketing and software. like wordperfect, ktrueman was developed using a mix of programming languages and techniques. languages popular in the seventies, like cobol and fortran, were mixed in with more recent languages like pascal, c and c++, to create a virtual pot-pourri of code under the hood. consequently ktrueman has experienced a number of y2k-related operating problems, including a few crashes. while 1999 was a succesful transition year, the passage to Y2K was complicated by a number of factors not least of which was a persistent low-level bug originating in the operating environment. efforts by a low-level code expert to re-write certain routines in assembly were complicated by this bug, which, while non-system critical, was a serious drag on run-time performance. it was not until june of 2001 that the origins of this bug were determined, an anti-virus solution applied and ktrueman rebooted to cement the fix. with the release of version 6.1, the overhaul of the ktrueman brand is now a fait accompli and the overall brand experience has been heightened dramatically. concurrent with these millenial changes, the ktrueman brand began an extension towards japan and additional commercial applications are being explored. seven months after the overhaul, results have been more than conclusive. additional features will be unlocked soon, taking ktrueman to the proverbial next level. recent passions are camping, snowboarding, and photography in urban settings. note from the editor: the ktrueman brand has changed more wthin the last two years then within the previous thirty. that being said, a major overhaul of this page is in order. it is our goal in the short to medium term to redefine the ktrueman description for the purpose of this page, so as to reflect the adjustments and repositionings undertaken in the recent past. while we recognize the need for an overhaul of the information presented here, we are not in a position to make a commitment for the delivery of this new document. ktrueman's recent commencement (frenglish?) of an mba will likely keep him from providing the necessary interviews and editorial necessary for a succesful relaunch of this page. faithful readers should not discourage as bursts of inspiration are not rare, though they are hard to predict. note from the editor: 3 full years have passed since this page was last updated. ktrueman as a brand has changed much. though we will elaborate later, suffice to say that the mba was completed, a new education program was being loaded via dvd-rom within months after that and is expected to take another 2 years to fully copy; a house was bought, and much nooky was had. the j-pop hottie fetish has not diminished though. update : january.7.2005
